Bourbonnais Park District to sell $845,000 in bonds
The Bourbonnais Township Park District held its regular meeting Oct. 26.
In order to help extend its debt service extension base, Executive Director Hollice Clark proposed a sale of $845,000 in bonds. In order to move forward, the board will have to amend the budget, Clark said.
Elsewhere in the park district, the commissioners reported that the Sleepy Hollow event at Exploration Station was successful, with 21 percent more revenue than the previous year.
In her report to the board, Exploration Station General Manager Sarah Winkel pointed toward future events at the museum, such as The World's Fair on Feb 16. The event will send children on quests that expose them to information, art and activities from countries around the world.
Clark also reported that Recreation Station is seeing record enrollment numbers in its before-school, after-school and pre-school programs.
Before adjourning, the board opened a bidding process for paving work at Perry Farm and approved the purchase of an electronic timesheet device for $26,905.
