The Village of Manteno approved a $1.6 million tax levy for 2015-2016 at its Dec. 7 meeting.
Approximately half of the $1,612,000 levy covers police and administrative costs, while another $330,000 is allotted for covering police pensions.
The village will pay $123,000 for liability insurance, $50,000 for street lighting and $221,000 for employee benefits and social security.
The levy passed by a 5-0 vote.
Trustee Todd Crockett was absent and did not vote.
