Bradley lowers truancy age

Schoolbus

Bradley's board of trustees recently amended the village's truancy code.

The new ordinance requires parents or guardians to make sure their children go to public, private or parochial school within village limits if the children are between 6 and 17. Previously the required age for children to attend school was 7 to 17.

The ordinance does not apply to homeschool students.

The measure was approved by a 6-0 vote during a board meeting in late November.
