The Manteno board approved the village's 2015/2016 tax levy at its Dec. 7 meeting.
The new levy is less than 1 percent higher than the previous one and will go toward the village's general obligation bond debts.
The village also approved an ordinance extending Manteno's participation in the Kankakee County Enterprise Zone. The zone offers tax breaks to businesspeople and builders as a means of attracting new business and development in a designated area.
Mayor Tim Nugent said the zone was recently renewed by the state after its previous 15-year term lapsed, requiring the village to renew its commitment to the zone.
The meeting was adjourned after 25 minutes.
Trustee Todd Crockett was absent.
