The Bourbonnais Finance Committee continued its preparations for next year's budget at a meeting Jan. 13.
Committee members said staff were almost finished compiling the revenue section and would have the expenditure section ready by the next committee meeting. Once the component sections of the budget proposal have been drafted, the village will draft two proposals: one reflecting the best case scenario and the other reflecting the worst case scenario.
Finance Director Mike Wolf said the village is continuing its work toward developing a five-year capital plan by bringing on a team of Olivet Nazarene University interns to inventory the village's assets.
The committee also considered a proposal from the park district to join with the village to purchase the Robert Frost School property, which is scheduled for sale.
Trustee Rick Fischer was absent.
