Bourbonnais board reviews projects at meeting
The Village of Bourbonnais board of directors met Monday, May 16.
The Village of Bourbonnais board of directors manages a variety of government and community matters. Meetings are held regularly to review new and old business alike, in addition to approving motions and appointments.
Here are the meeting minutes as provided by the Village of Bourbonnais board of directors:
1. Call to order: The public hearing was called to order at 5:15 p.m. by Village President Paul Schore.
2. Roll Call: Village clerk Brian Simeur called the roll with the following trustees present: Trustee Vera Amiano, Trustee Bruce Greenlee, Trustee Rick Fischer, Trustee Randy King, Trustee Jeff Keast and Trustee Jack Littrell. Also in attendance were Village treasurer Ron Riebe, Village Attorney Patrick Dunn and Village Administrator Michael Van Mill.
Mayor Schore also asked everyone in attendance to sign the sign in sheet, which is a requirement of the public hearing for this project.
3. Public hearing: Mayor Schore talked about the reason this public hearing is being held and the need for the project (New Bike Trail-ITEP Grant application).
4. Engineer's explanation of project: Village engineer Dave Tyson noted the following:
The proposed trail would run from Bethel Drive to Diamond Point Park
The project is estimated to cost $1,700,000
The State of Illinois' ITEP would cover 80% of the project, or $1,360,000
The Trail covers approximately 2.75 miles
5. Public comments: None.
A motion was made by Trustee Fischer and seconded by Trustee Amiano to adjourn the public hearing. Motion passed on a voice vote of 6-0 and the meeting adjourned at 5:18 p.m.
