Momence City Council meets to review bills
Members of the Momence City Council met Monday, June 20.
The Momence City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month.

MOMENCE CITY COUNCIL Monday, June 20, 2016 Council Meeting Time: 7:30 P.M.
The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 N. Dixie Highway, Momence. Mayor Mick Porter called the meeting to order.
Roll was called by the Recording Secretary, Lori Schultz, with Aldermen Navratil, Nova Metz, Steele, Cook, Lesyna and John Metz present. Also present was Mayor Mick Porter. Alderman Kupferer has resigned. Alderman Denton was absent.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Cook made a motion to approve the Regular and Executive Session minutes of the June 6, 2016, Council Meeting as presented. Alderman Nova Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Navratil, Nova Metz, Steele, Cook, Lesyna and John Metz voting yes.
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS
The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting. Alderman Lesyna made a motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Nova Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Navratil, Nova Metz, Steele, Cook, Lesyna and John Metz voting yes.
Joey Baud from Red Cedar Lanes requested permission to have live music on the evening of Friday, July 1, 2016 from 9:00 to 12:30P.M in the beer garden. Alderman Lesyna made a motion to approve the request for live music at dates and times mentioned above. Alderman Nova Metz seconded the motion. Motion carried with 6 Ayes and 0 Nays.
Michael & Tracy Plein addressed the Council regarding permission to temporarily have their semi-trailer on their Franklin property to be used for storage of equipment and provide safety to the community. Tracy Plein stated they felt it was maliciously removed by Chief Cavender. Tracy Plein also stated they have been local business owners for over 40 years and have cleaned up the Franklin property. The Plein’s have spoken to all of their neighbors; the neighbors have no problems with the semi-trailer on the Franklin property.
