The early-bird deadline for joining the 2017 youth-basketball league within the Bourbonnais Township Park District is Oct. 23, according to the park-district's online program guide.
The league is for players in kindergarten through eighth grade. Kindergartners and first-graders are grouped together, followed by second- and third-graders, fourth- and fifth-graders, and sixth- through eighth-graders.
Practices for all age groups will start the week of Jan. 2. Practices will be held during evening hours. Teams will be randomly chosen; requests for participant placement on specific teams will not be accepted.
Early-bird fees are $65 for residents and $78 for non-residents. After Nov. 23, each registration received will be assessed a $15 fee. A 25 percent discount for multiple participants within a family begins with the third child registered. Participants must come to a park-district facility to register to received the discount.
