Bradley Elementary School District No. 61 Board of Education met Monday, Oct. 31.

The board oversees all matters related to schools in District 61.

Here are the minutes as provided by Bradley ESD No. 61:

Regular Board Meeting October 13, 2016

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Bradley Elementary School District No. 61 was held on October 13, 2016, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Bradley Administrative Center. President Golwitzer called the meeting to order and thereafter presided.

On roll call, the following members voted Present: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert and Whalen. Also present, Superintendent Goselin, Director of Finance, Kirt Hendrick, Principal Mark Kohl, Assistant Principal Trisha Anderson and Director of Special Services, Lindsey Coffey. Not in Attendance were Board Members Helgeson and Trudeau.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by Terri Golwitzer.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Geraci; seconded by Schubert, to adopt all items on the Consent Agenda; 1) Approve Special and Regular Board Meeting Minutes of September 15, 2016; 2) Approve Payroll and Accounts Payable; 3) Approve Illinois Secretary of State Library Grant following review of "Linking for Learning"; 4) Approve Facility Usage Requests: (Dates and times approved by building Principals): Bradley Lions Football - All three buildings (September-October); Youth for Christ (Bradley Central Gym/Café) - October 2016 thru May 2017; 5) Approve Imprest Fund.

On roll call, the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert and Whalen. Absent: Helgeson and Trudeau Exceptions: None Nays: None Motion carried.

Recognition of Excellence included: 1) Pledge for Life Partnership Life Education Center "Best Practice Contest" Award Winners: Liz Tschopp - 1 Place; Beth Sadler - 2" Place; Sharon Brack - 3" Place; Sue Williams - 3" Place; 2) IASB Three Rivers Division (Awards Meeting): Terrie Golwitzer - Master Board Member Status Maintained; Presenter - New Board Member Workshop; Mark Hasemeyer - Master Board Member Status Maintained.

The Building Facilities and Safety Committee - (Schubert & Trudeau) - No Meeting this month.

On recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion to go into Executive Session at 7:37 p.m. was made by Hasemeyer, seconded by Geraci to discuss personnel appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, dismissal or complaints (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)); student disciplinary cases (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9); and discussion of minutes (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21)].

On roll call, the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer Schubert and Whalen. Absent: Helgeson and Trudeau Nays: None Motion carried.

Board Member Helgeson arrived at 8:05 p.m.

A Motion to Reconvene to Open Session was made at 8:10 p.m. by Geraci, seconded by Whalen.

On roll call, the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Helgeson, Schubert and Whalen. Absent: Trudeau Nays: None Motion carried.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made Helgeson seconded by Golwitzer to approve the September 15, 2016 Executive Session minutes.

On roll call, the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Helgeson, Schubert and Whalen. Absent: Trudeau Nays: None Motion carried.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Geraci, seconded by Golwitzer to approve the Employment / Transfer of: Deborah Pitts - Student Data Manager; Christine Rozak - PIT ParaPro at East (Title I); Keri Tolbert - P/T ParaPro at East, Melissa Kutemeier - F/T ParaPro at East and transfer of Erin Sifrit - Clerk / District Office.

On roll call, the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert and Whalen. Absent: Trudeau Abstain: Helgeson Exception: None Nays: None Motion carried.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Hasemeyer, seconded by Schubert to approve the Resignation of Anuradha Gampala - P/T ParaPro at East; Kelly Smith - F/T ParaPro at East; Beth Sadler - Teacher West (6%. Retirement 2020-2021) and Lori Peters - Teacher West (6%. Retirement 2020-2021); also approve unpaid leave Diana Baker - 1 day - November 9, 2016; Sarah Hartman -3 days unpaid Leave - November 30 thru December 2, 2016.

On roll call, the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert and Whalen. Absent: Trudeau Abstain: Helgeson Exception: None Nays: None Motion carried.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Whalen, seconded by Geraci to approve the employment of substitute teachers: Linda LeRoy, Gretchen Brousseau, Brent Austiff, Lois Kula and Samantha Baines.

On roll call, the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert and Whalen. Absent: Trudeau Abstain: Helgeson Exception: None Nays: None Motion carried.

Review Student Disciplinary Cases (Student Discipline - 5ILCS 120/20(9)) Students with over 5+ days of Out of School Suspensions - N/A Discussion Items: District Boundaries Correspondence and Announcements: Thank You Cards from the United Way and LASB.

A motion was made by Geraci, seconded by Helgeson to Adjourn the meeting at 8:43 p.m.
