1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by the Committee Chairman, Mr. Kinzinger, at 9:00 a.m. Quorum present.

2. Public Comment

None

3. Approval of Minutes: August 13, 2020

Mr. Fetherling made a motion to approve the minutes, and Mr. Dunnill seconded it. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 14 ayes and 0 nays. Voting aye were: Mr. Kinzinger, Ms. Polk, Mr. Snipes, Ms. Peters, Ms. Haas, Mr. Carrico, Mr. Ekhoff, Mr. Fetherling, Mr. Smith, Mr. Long, Mr. Dunnill, Mr. Kerkstra, Mr. Hunter and Mr. Wheeler

4. Highways – Mark Rogers

Mr. Kinzinger advised he needed a motion to open the bids for the surplus sale.

Mr. Ekhoff made a motion to open the bids, and Ms. Peters seconded it. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 14 ayes and 0 nays. Voting aye were: Mr. Kinzinger, Ms. Polk, Mr. Snipes, Ms. Peters, Ms. Haas, Mr. Carrico, Mr. Ekhoff, Mr. Fetherling, Mr. Smith, Mr. Long, Mr. Dunnill, Mr. Kerkstra, Mr. Hunter and Mr. Wheeler

• Surplus Equipment Sale

Mr. Rogers opened the sealed bids for the surplus equipment and read them to the committee. Mr. Kinzinger confirmed that the bid for the truck would need to be approved.

Mr. Carrico made a motion to approve the lowest qualified bidder after review, and Mr. Kerkstra seconded it. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 14 ayes and 0 nays. Voting aye were: Mr. Kinzinger, Ms. Polk, Mr. Snipes, Ms. Peters, Ms. Haas, Mr. Carrico, Mr. Ekhoff, Mr. Fetherling, Mr. Smith, Mr. Long, Mr. Dunnill, Mr. Kerkstra, Mr. Hunter and Mr. Wheeler

• County Engineer’s Pay Estimates

Mr. Rogers reviewed and read the County Engineer’s Pay Estimates with the committee.

Mr. Kerkstra made a motion to approve, and Ms. Polk seconded it. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 14 ayes and 0 nays. Voting aye were: Mr. Kinzinger, Ms. Polk, Mr. Snipes, Ms. Peters, Ms. Haas, Mr. Carrico, Mr. Ekhoff, Mr. Fetherling, Mr. Smith, Mr. Long, Mr. Dunnill, Mr. Kerkstra, Mr. Hunter and Mr. Wheeler

5. Buildings - Wes Andrews

Mr. Andrews discussed and reviewed the monthly reports with the committee.

• Facility Dude Report

There were 195 work orders for the month.

• Financial Report

Mr. Andrews reviewed the financial report with the committee.

• Building Report

Mr. Andrews reviewed the county buildings with the committee and the repairs that are being completed.

Mr. Andrews advised that the elevator damage in the admin building is creating a communication issue with the repair and the age of the equipment. He will update the committee as the updates are given.

The LED project is going to begin at every building but the admin building this fall. This will begin at Jerome Combs first.

Mr. Wheeler added that State Representative Parkhurst was able to assist us in getting $400,000 for the Courthouse. That is scheduled for 2021, so we will be working on the priorities for that. Mr. Wheeler added that the historical committee is working on the historical aspects of that project and getting the landscaping to the original.

Mr. Wheeler added that the courthouse projects will make for another busy year.

6. Old Business

Mr. Rogers advised that the sealed bid on the truck that was opened for the surplus sale of $17,851 would be accepted.

Mr. Kerkstra made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:33 a.m., and Ms. Peters seconded it. Motion carried with a voice vote.
