April is being recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, aiming to raise public awareness and educate communities about preventing sexual violence.
The month-long observance highlights the importance of promoting respect, supporting survivors, and encouraging healthy and safe relationships. Organizers say that increased education can help prevent incidents of sexual assault in communities.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month seeks to involve individuals, organizations, and local leaders in conversations about consent, respect, and resources for those affected by sexual violence. The campaign encourages people to take part in activities that foster understanding and advocate for safer environments.
