Ascension Illinois announced on March 30 that it is celebrating Doctors’ Day, recognizing the commitment and clinical excellence of its physicians who care for patients and families across the state.
The event highlights the important role doctors play in providing medical care at every stage of life, from pediatric services to behavioral health, cardiovascular care, and oncology treatments. The recognition comes as part of National Physicians Week, with a focus on honoring those who lead research efforts and mentor future doctors.
Polly Davenport, CEO of Ascension Illinois, said, “Our physicians combine their precise knowledge of medicine with a heartfelt desire to improve the communities they live in and serve. Doctors’ Day poses the perfect opportunity to highlight their dedication at the bedside and in the community alongside our associates who share the honor of being part of our Ministry.”
According to Ascension Illinois, its doctors are committed to serving all patients—especially those most in need—and are guided by a mission-driven approach. Throughout National Physicians Week, physician leaders will be featured on LinkedIn as they reflect on their purpose in medicine through mentoring residents and achieving treatment milestones.
The organization invites community members to express gratitude for local physicians’ skill, integrity, and compassion. The celebration aims not only to acknowledge current achievements but also inspire continued commitment among healthcare professionals.
