City of Momence Budget and Finance Committee met Dec. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Budget and Finance Committee meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.

Present: committee members: Aldermen Salomone, Clark, Cook and Strunk. Also, present were Aldermen Carbonaro, Huddelston, and Mayor Steele. Aldermen Starkey and Temple were absent.

Tax levy -announce 20 days prior to vote. This needs to be finalized prior to the last Tuesday of December. Vote will be at the next council meeting

$210305.00 first Covid allocation – Mayor announced a major expense that just occurred with one of the wells. We have received a partial bill of 11000.00, we are looking at a total of 56000.00 for this project.

Alderman Cook mentioned we should look at prevailing wage. Water/sewer may be our only legitimate expense to spend this amount on.

Alderman Salomone mentioned that we should separate this amount into separate accounts for different projects.

Bills were discussed for payment.

One item is removed, $100.00 separate October invoice. He has billed for October/November together for 200.00.
