The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.
ROLL CALL
Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Doody, Hart, and Temple,Lesyna Vela.
Tanya, Anderson, Cook was absent.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Josh made motion to approve of the minutes Alderman Tom seconded the motion with Aldermen, Mark, Fordahl, Tom,Vele Hart
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS
Alderman Doody made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Mark seconded the motion with Aldermen Fordahl, Hart, Vela, Temple,Lesyna.

Melissa called for budget and finance at 7:15 on March 2ed 2026
Aldermen Tanya Fordhal discuss Republic service proposal. She stated that republic purchased a new sweeper for the road. Republic stated that they have followed my waste truck app. New contract looks like a 16% increase and 4 % every year after the contract will be 5 years long with no yard waste charges. Negotiations are still undergoing and this is just a current update, nothing final.
Department Heads-
Eric discussed the water tower repair and the painting, and the new valve to be replaced. picking up leaves in the next few weeks weather permitting and new lights on Washington street that need to be replaced and wiring repaired Eric also stated that the sewer plant construction will begin the last week of march by Burns construction.

MAYORAL REPORT –
Mayor Chuck Steele is requesting the appointment of Jacqueline Agee Jackie as the position of city of Momence Attorney. He requested a vote to confirm appointment Josh made motion to approve and Vela 2nd the motion Mark, Tom, Tayna, Melissa, and heart all voted yes.
