City of Momence City Council met March 2.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Doody, Hart, Anderson, Fordahl, Cook, and Temple, Lesyna. Vela was absent.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Anderson made motion to approve the minutes. Alderman Fordahl second the motion with Lesyna, Doody, Cook, Hart, Temple. And all approved of the corrections from last meeting.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

Alderman Doody made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Aldermen, Fordahl, Hart, Doody, Temple, Lesyna,

CITIZENS FOROM-

Nothing

Old Business –

Alderman Fordahl stated that the Park district will be doing the Farmers Market 1st and 3rd Sunday starting in June through September 12:30-3:30. No other old business was discussed.

Aldermanic

Melissa called for budget and finance at 7:15 on 16th.

Department Heads-

Eric on streets and alley leave and brush up as weather permits, water tower is being fixed and looking at being painted and hopefully be up and running again in a few days. Also, the well pump that was down on another well was back online. He next brought up the street repair of 2nd Street that will repave the road if the City agrees to do all the handicap sidewalk ramps the county is only responsible for the center 2 lanes but will do the park lanes as well if we do the handicap ramps. Eric and the Mayor think this is a good deal but will cost between 60,000 and 80,000 to do.

Next was the Chief and he presented awards to Officer Ramirez and Rodriques as co-holders of this year’s officers of the year awards; Officer Arroyo was given recognition for his work as lead detective. The Mayor then stated that he was proud of our police department and believes it is the best it has ever been.

MAYORAL REPORT –

The Mayor welcomed Jacqueline Agee as the attorney and introduced her to the board.

Alderman Doody made motion to adjourn Cook second. Temple, Anderson, Hart, Fordahl, Cook, Lesyna all approved.
