City of Momence City Council met May 22.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Doody, Vela, Anderson,, Fordahl, Cook, Temple and Lesyna present.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman made motion to approve the minutes of. Alderman seconded the motion with Aldermen Doody, Vela, Anderson,, Fordahl, Cook, Temple and Lesyna voting yes.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

Alderman Doody made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Aldermen Doody, Vela, Anderson,, Fordahl,, Temple and Lesyna voting yes.

CITIZENS FOROM-

Rusty Weighbright requesting permission for spot in Washington street parking lot for Popcorn and snow cones during glad fest Alderman cook made motion to approve and Tom Temple 2nd with Mark, Tanya, Millisa, Aveliino, Josh voting yes

Next was Christy Ritter requesting permission to move formal closet on Saturday between 8-12 am Clerk Wyatt volunteered to come in to supervise the move motion to approve was made by Cook 2nd by Anderson with remaining alderman voting to approve

Old Business –

Nothing for old business

Aldermanic – Alderman Doody – Budget and Finance meeting for June 2nd at 7:15 Also requested everyone to review the appropriation for the next meeting

Department Heads-

Chief Seimson gave a brief report relating to officer training going well and new officers on track. Also stated rumors relating to the Burger King murders To be false regarding a arrest to be made. Scott had nothing. Tina brought up the new software for our billing and payroll and all related finances. She stated that she investigated another company and was much more expensive and had to use outside sources to work. Tyler Tech was offering a discount and was approximately 30 grand less. Tyler Tech was 53,530.00 with an annual fee of 21,000.00. Motion to approve was made by Mark Lesyna d 2nd by Tom Temple and remaining alderman voted to approve. decrease in claims that resulted in a decrease in premium costs. so, insurance rates went down 100 to 200 per employee. Motion to approve to stay with current health insurance company was made by David and second by Tanya and remaining alderman voted yes to approve.

Treasurer report –

Tina stated that Lisa will be in this next week to do the balancing.

MAYORAL REPORT –

Mayor asked for approval of Momence Café to have a sidewalk dining permit. Daivd made motion to approve with Melissa 2nd the vote was approved by remaining alderman voting yes.

Next mayor asked to appoint Josh Anderson to the planning and zoning board. Motion to approve was made by David and 2nd by Tanya with remaining alderman voting yes.

Alderman Cook made motion to adjourn. Alderman Doody seconded the motion along with Aldermen, Vela, Anderson,, Fordahl, Temple and Lesyna voting yes.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 PM
