City of Watseka City Council met May 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

PRESENT: Mayor Allhands, Aldermen Barragree, Cahoe, Marcier, Anderson, Miller, Muench, Alderwomen Rohlfs, and DeLahr

GUEST: Public Works Director Loren Grosvenor

Mayor Allhands opened the meeting at 6:30 to discuss the 2024 MFT Recycling Program Section 24-0000-00- GM Gallagher Asphalt Corporation $535,337.65.

Loren stated the following roads will be done with this proposal: Sheridan St from 2nd to 6th, 6th to Raymond Road, Chicago, Market, Virginia and Wabash. The estimate came in lower than the engineers estimate of $614,335. Loren stated public works should be able to do some of the sidewalk work and gravel work amounting to about $102,000 off of the total. Alderman Anderson makes a motion to approve the Gallagher Asphalt 2024 MFT Recycling Program for $535,337.65 and Alderman Miller seconded. Roll call carried 7-1 with Alderman Cahoe voting no.

Alderman Marcier makes a motion to adjourn at 6:37 and Alderwoman DeLahr seconded. Roll call carried 9-0.
