City of Watseka Finance, Legal & Audit Committee met Feb. 17.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
PRESENT: Aldermen Dewitt, Miller, Brault, Alderwoman Rohlfs and Mayor Marcier ABSENT: Aldermen Pence, Peterson, Garfield and MuenchÂ
Mayor Marcier opened the meeting at 6:30 pm with a moment of silence for Fireman  Dakota Schroeder who passed away last week.Â
Alderman Miller makes a motion to recommend to the council to accept the January  Treasurers report and Alderman Dewitt seconded. Roll call carried 5-0.Â
Mayor Marcier stated has talked to the Historical Preservation Society about work at the  Depot, and they told him the city can do anything they want there are no requirements or  restrictions. He is waiting for an email stating that in writing for the committee. Mayor  Marcier stated the committee has before them quotes from Wright Electric and Ruder  Electric for lighting at the Depot, the quotes were completely different. So, the Mayor will  be more specific in what is needed there and start over on the quotes. This is tabled for  now. Mayor Marcier also had quotes from Ruder for 2 cameras at the impound lot. Public  works will do the wiring for the cameras; the cost was $5,844.00 with annual cloud storage of $356.24. After some discussion it was decided to take this to Chief Starkey and get his  input. The next quote from Ruder’s was for the cameras and door access to the depot. The  cost for 7 cameras and installation was $18,094.63, with yearly cloud storage of $1264.84.  This will be paid for by the Depot monies. Alderman Dewitt makes a motion to  recommend to the Council to accept the quote from Ruder Electric for the cameras at  the depot for a cost of $18,094.63 and yearly cloud storage of $1246.84, Alderman  Brault seconded. Roll call carried 5-0.Â
Mayor Marcier stated he would like to change next month’s meeting for Finance and Public  Works/Water Wastewater to Monday March 16th instead of Tuesday March 17th because of  the state general election. City hall is a polling place. The committee was ok with this  change.Â
Alderman Dewitt makes a motion to adjourn at 6:50 pm and Alderman Brault seconded. Â Roll call carried 5-0.Â
