Donald R. Ball, who was born on February 26, 1954, in Kankakee, IL, passed away on August 16, 2025, at home surrounded by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Dorothy Ball. Survived by his wife Pamela (Moody) Ball, children McKinley (Rachel) Ball, Marissa (Zach) Mahan, Brandy (Robert) Overmyer, Brandon (Rhonda) Miller, grandchildren Landon, Ethan, Lecie, Dylan, Makenna, Hunter, Jake, Madisyn, brothers David (Jacquelyn) Ball, Dennis (Kathleen) Ball, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/great-nephews.

Throughout his life, Don worked at various places, including Roper, owning and operating his landscape company, and working for Holohan Heating and Sheet Metal for over 20 years. In the last decade, he was actively involved with Buddy Check 22 VSA, serving as the Executive Director and fundraising for veteran awareness. Don cherished his roles as a father, husband, and grandfather, enjoying golf, cooking, caring for his family, and traveling with his wife.

A memorial visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Buddy Check 22 Veteran Suicide Awareness.
