State Representative Jackie Haas has announced the commencement of her second annual school supply drive, aimed at assisting local students in need. The initiative will take place from July 7 to July 21, with supplies being collected at Rep. Haas’ district office located at 187 S. Schuyler Avenue, Suite 110 in Kankakee.

The gathered supplies will be distributed during National Night Out and Park Forest Youth Day events. Representative Haas emphasized the growing challenge families face due to rising living costs, stating, “With the cost of living increasing, families are finding it more difficult each year to provide the school supplies needed for their children to succeed.”

Haas encourages community participation in this effort to support students: “I am hosting this school supply drive to bring our community together and help fill in the gaps for those in need in our community. I encourage anyone who is able to join us and help ensure our next generation has the materials they need to thrive!”

Items requested for donation include pens, #2 pencils, pink erasers, notebooks, folders, binders, crayons, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, and tissues.
