Richard “Paul” Kerouac passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 89 in Manteno. Born in Bourbonnais on January 23, 1936, to Gabriel & Marie Kerouac, Paul married Joanne Hartman in 1980. As a former Superintendent of Maintenance for Bradley School District, Paul enjoyed painting homes and engaging in various activities such as swimming, golfing, and traveling. He was a dedicated family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones.

A United States Marine Corps veteran and a follower of the Catholic faith, Paul is survived by his wife Joanne; children Michael, Patti (Woody), Shari (Don), stepchildren Brian, and Julie (James); sister Barbara Nowman; grandchildren Richard, Chad, Aimee, Lindsey, Jodi, Kaitlyn, Karlee, Jared, Zac, and Clif; and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Cremation rites will follow the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made in accordance with the family’s wishes.
