U.S. Representative Robin Kelly has announced details about her upcoming Youth Opportunities Fair and legislative efforts addressing Black maternal health, according to a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On March 9, 2026, Kelly posted: “The countdown is on. Just 5 days until my Youth Opportunities Fair. Over 60 vendors will offer summer camps, internships, mentorship programs, jobs, and more for youth of all ages. Register now: https://t.co/oiN9DVU3fw https://t.co/OTfzOhRf4k”
A follow-up post on March 10 highlighted the issue of Black maternal health and introduced new legislation: “Black women are still not heard in our hospitals. Mercedes Wells was sent home while in active labor. That is unacceptable. Black women’s pain in childbirth cannot be ignored or dismissed. Later that day, Kelly provided additional details about the event: “Come explore my Youth Opportunities Fair with me this Saturday.
