U.S. Representative Robin Kelly has recently voiced criticism of former President Donald Trump’s policies in a series of posts on her official Twitter account, focusing on economic inequality and health care access.

On August 15, 2025, Kelly stated, “President Trump pulled a reverse-Robin Hood and gave more money to billionaires. We need real leadership that prioritizes the economic security of all Americans, not just the top 1 percent.”

The following day, August 16, she emphasized support for working families: “Families shouldn’t have to choose between food, healthcare, and paying the bills. Every American deserves a government that supports them, not one that takes their dignity and essential resources away.”

On August 17, Kelly addressed concerns about health care legislation associated with the former president: “President Trump’s Big, Ugly Law is a cruel law that would strip health care from millions of Americans. Let’s be clear: this isn’t about making life better. It’s about dismantling Medicaid, the ACA, & CHIP to serve his political agenda”.

Robin Kelly has represented Illinois in Congress since winning a special election in 2013 and has consistently secured re-election by significant margins. In the most recent general election in 2022, she defeated Thomas Lynch with over two-thirds of the vote. Her previous victories include defeating Theresa Raborn in 2020 and David Merkle in 2018 by similarly wide margins.
