Robin Kelly, U.S. Representative from Illinois, has recently posted a series of statements on her social media accounts addressing youth employment opportunities and criticizing current federal leadership.

On February 20, 2026, Kelly promoted an event for young people seeking work and mentorship. She stated, “Summer 2026 is loading… Secure a job, an internship, a camp, & volunteer opportunities. Join my Youth Opportunities Fair & connect directly with organizations hiring & mentoring K–12 & college-age students. Register here: https://t.co/oiN9DVU3fw https://t.co/DMiRwDgAjW”.

In a post dated February 21, 2026, she criticized President Trump ahead of his upcoming State of the Union address: “Next week, President Trump will give the State of the Union and spew lies about lowering healthcare costs. The truth? His Big, Ugly Law gutted Medicaid by nearly $1 BILLION. He refused to extend the ACA tax credits. Our public health is in a state of crisis.”

Later that day, Kelly turned her attention to Secretary Noem’s actions at the Department of Homeland Security: “Secretary Noem has weaponized DHS with mass surveillance tools that treat every citizen like a suspect. From ending TPS protections to Gestapo-style ICE raids, she has violated the public trust. Impeachment is the best way to stop her from further eroding our civil liberties.”

Robin Kelly has served as U.S. Representative since winning a special election in 2013 and has consistently secured reelection by significant margins in subsequent general elections against Republican opponents Thomas Lynch (2022), Theresa Raborn (2020), David Merkle (2018), John Morrow (2016), Eric Wallace (2014), and Paul McKinley (2013).
