Ronald Riebe, aged 78, of Bourbonnais, passed away on July 8, 2025, at Miller Health Care Center in Kankakee. Born on December 22, 1946, in Pontiac, IL, to John Henry and Mildred Ruth Riebe, Ronald was a dedicated accountant who worked for Swift & Company and Bunge. He served as the treasurer for the Village of Bourbonnais for over 35 years, making substantial contributions to his community. Ronald was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a devoted Catholic.

Known for his love of golf, Ronald was an avid player and spectator for over 50 years. He held a passion for the sport and spent much of his time both on the course and watching matches. Despite being a disappointed Chicago Bears fan, Ronald’s enthusiasm for golf never wavered. His responses to “How are you doing, Ron?” with a simple “Okay” or “Fine” became endearing and characteristic of his nature.

Ronald is survived by his sister, Mary Lynn Riebe, of Denver, CO, and his nephew, John Alan Folkers, of El Paso, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janet Riebe Folkers.

Cremation rites have been accorded with inurnment scheduled at a later date at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Cullom, IL. Memorials are suggested to the family’s wishes. Share condolences at www.clancygernon.com.

Ronald Riebe will be warmly remembered for his commitment to his community, his passion for golf, and his simple yet genuine responses that reflected his modest and straightforward character.
