Shooting at 200 block of South Elm Avenue

Kankakee Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of South Elm Avenue.

At 6:45am, Officers responded to shots fired in the area of 200 South Elm Avenue. Officers located a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.  A short time later Kankakee Police made contact with a 23-year-old male who advised Officers he was involved in the shooting incident.  Detectives are currently interviewing those involved to determine the motive for the shooting.
