President Barack Obama and Gov. Bruce Rauner issued an order Monday for all schools, prisons and government buildings in Illinois to lower their flags to half-staff in honor of the victims of recent terrorist attacks in Paris.
More than 120 people were killed and hundreds injured Friday, when terrorists linked with the Islamic State group (ISIS), attacked several sites around Paris, including nightclubs, restaurants, a concert hall and a stadium.
France has since retaliated with airstrikes against ISIS in Syria. Officials continue to search for at least one missing suspect believed to still be alive. Other suspects killed themselves during the attacks.
Flags are to remain at half-staff until sunset on Thursday.
