The Village of Bradley's Ordinance Committee held its regular meeting Sept. 23.
The committee repealed a previously passed ordinance dealing with sewer debt payments because lawyers found that the village could not legally enforce it. Village Attorney Jim Rowe recommended the village seek an alternative way of collecting debts owed by homeowners.
The committee also repealed the Trees on Terrace Ordinance but expressed an interest in crafting a realistic plan for tree maintenance in the village. The opinion was seconded by Chuck Burke during public comment.
Possible solutions included hiring an outside company to assist with the identification and clearing of dead or diseased trees and a tree trimming company to keep up with maintenance. Rowe said he will discuss the issue with the Public Works Director. The board will take the issue up again at a future meeting.
There was no other business on the agenda.
