The Momence City Council held a special meeting Dec. 28 to pass the city's tax levy.
The 7-0 vote marks the end of a six-month process that began in June with the filing of the appropriation ordinance.
The city also held a public hearing on Dec. 7 to announce this year's increase as well as another meeting Dec. 8 to approve the announced amount.
The total 2015 tax levy is $415,266 and covers the city's administrative costs, insurance, police, street maintenance and worker's compensation costs.
The meeting was adjourned after 3 minutes.
