The Momence City Council considered an ordinance Jan. 18 that would correct an error in an ordinance passed Oct. 5, allowing the city to borrow money to support its water and sewer system.
The original ordinance cited the wrong statute in describing its legal authority to operate a combined water and sewer system.
To correct it, the council wrote a new ordinance, including a reference to the correct statute.
