The Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce and other local business organizations will host an introductory meeting for the new workkankakee.org website Tuesday at the Kankakee Public Library.
The website is designed to be a hub for workforce development, providing information on jobs, internships, funding, continuing education as well as material promoting careers in manufacturing technology, electrical systems, health care and engineering.
In addition to a tutorial of the website, participants will also hear from keynote speakers, such as Kankakee Community College President Dr. John Avendano, Kankakee School District 111 Superintendent Dr. Genevra Walters, Olivet Nazarene University Senior Director of External Admissions Don Perry, CSL Behring Kankakee Site Head of Communications Maureen Powell and Coalition for Hope and Excellence in Education Director Dr. Susan Emmerich.
