The Chebanse village board approved its 2015 tax levy during a regular meeting Dec. 7.
The new levy's rate will remain the same as the previous year's rate.
Board President Eldon Dubuque updated the board on the village's transition to electricity aggregation. Dubuque said the village will partner with Homefield Energy and hopes to have the arrangement finalized by June.
Electricity aggregation is a popular new strategy pursued by local governments that allows municipalities to join a pool of other local government power purchasers to leverage lower, more stable prices.
