ONU students to attend human resources competition

Onu

Students from Olivet Nazarene University's (ONU) chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management will compete in the SHRM Central Division Student Case Competition and Career Summit April 1 and April 2 in Omaha.

The ONU team will be comprised of students from SHRM as well as students taking the Human Resource Management II class. The group hopes to improve upon last year's second place finish.

ONU officials said the competition is the premier venue for human resources students in the United States to showcase their skills and network for professional opportunities in a field that continues to expand.

“The Human Resource Management field is growing as the business community continues to view HR’s role as more strategic and vital to company success,” says Professor Andy Corbus. “Being involved with ONU-SHRM has given Olivet students a chance to explore current issues in HR while building a robust network of HR professionals. SHRM is one of the most supportive student organizations that I have ever seen. Our students are benefiting from these opportunities.”

SHRM is the world's largest human resources management membership organization, with an international membership of 275,000 people in more than 160 countries.
