The Kankakee County board unanimously confirmed the appointment of Shari Ebert to the county's Historic Preservation Commission March 8.
Ebert is a historian who helps the committee to fulfill its requirement to have at least one professional historian on board.
She was recommended by the county's executive committee Feb. 25.
Ebert will be one of the nine committee members through July 10, 2019.
