The village of Manteno has joined the Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network (IPWMAN).
IPWMAN is a network of local governments, public works departments and others involved with public works projects who volunteer to mutually share personnel, equipment and other resources needed to carry out public works projects.
Manteno's initial membership will be good for one year then the network and the village will have an opportunity to review the partnership and decide to continue with it or not.
The village board approved the village's participation March 7 by a 6-0 vote.
