The Kankakee County Community Services Committee met to review assessed values.
The Kankakee County Community Services Committee discussed the county's assessed value during its regular meeting on Feb. 24.
The discussion came after the county received the Illinois Department of Revenue's (DOR) equalization numbers, which raise or lower assessed values in a given area to make them comparable to the assessed values of other areas.
The DOR's review did not lead to any changes in Kankakee County's numbers, although the final figures were still being discussed. The final value will depend mainly on whether or not state officials decide to include the value of schools and hospitals, which have traditionally been exempt.
The meeting was adjourned after 36 minutes.
