The Two Rivers Century Bike Ride will take place Sunday, Aug. 7, starting at the Ice Valley Centre Ice Arena parking lot, 1601 River Road.
Routes will cover distances ranging from 22 to 128 miles, and will go along the Kankakee and Iroquois rivers, according to TwoRiversCentury.com.
Suggested start times are 6:30 a.m. for the double-metric (128-mile) route, 7:30 a.m. for the century (100 miles) route, 8:30 a.m. for the 80-mile route, and 9:30 a.m. for the metric century (62-mile) route. Race-day registration starts at 6 a.m.
The non-refundable fee to enter is $35 for adults, and $5 for children ages 5 and younger. To pre-register, go to www.kvpd.com.
Tent and RV camping will be available a half mile from the registration table. Cost for those wearing event wristbands is $10 for an RV and $5 for a tent, payable at the campground. Spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. An early reservation and club party will be held on the campground at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6.
Other sites in addition to the two rivers along the routes include the Shapiro Clock Tower, two Frank Lloyd Wright homes, buffalo, downtown Kankakee, the Island Park of Momence and others. Area activities include the Kankakee County Fair, which will run from Aug. 3-7; Reed's Canoe Trips; and the Chicago Bears' training camp in nearby Bourbonnais.
