Bourbonnais Upper Grade Center sets baseball, softball tryouts

Softball

The Bourbonnais Upper Grade Center (BUGC) has released the details on its sports tryouts for baseball and softball.

Baseball tryouts for grades six, seven and eight will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1; from 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2; and from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 at the school. Prospective athletes should plan to be at all three days of tryouts. For multi-sports athletes, they may attend but should be willing to make baseball the priority.

If you want to tryout, you must turn in a signed insurance waiver form, which can be picked up in the PE and/or main office of the school; have an up-to-date physical on file with the school (a physical is good for one year from its date); and email your name, grade and top two positions to Coach Arlis. More information and documents are available on the BUGC Baseball website, www.besd53.org/Page/126.

Tryouts for girls softball for grades six, seven and eight will be held Wednesday through Friday, July 27-29. On July 27, registration will begin at 7:40 a.m. with tryouts lasting from 8-10 a.m. The second day of tryouts will run from 8-10 a.m., with pitchers and catchers going until 10:45 a.m., and the first cuts getting made. The third day of tryouts will run from the same time, with final cuts being made.

Players should bring a glove, pants, water and any other additional gear they may have. They must also have a signed insurance waiver and a photocopy of a current sports physical. For more information, contact Tiffany Lanoue at lanouet@besd53.org.
