Grant Park details recent board meeting

The Village of Grant Park board met Monday, June 6.

"The President and Village Board provide direction for Village operations, adopt ordinances, appoint personnel, determine policy under which the Village operates, and approve payment for all expenses and liabilities."

Meeting held at Community Center

6:00 Meeting called to order/Pledge

Roll Call was taken, all members present except Ms. Dickson

Motion to approve minutes from 5/16/16 previous meeting

Motion: Wold 2nd: Veldhuizen Motion Carried 5-0

No public comments:

*Motion to approve bills for payment: General Fund $27,294.52, Sewer $2,453.36

M.F.T. $226.86 Payroll $13,727.48

Motion: Malkowski 2nd: Wold Motion Carried 5-0

Departmental reports:

Clerk Dillman: no report

Atty Rowe:

*Vote to approve Resolution R-6-16-1 Opposing GLB Railroad

Motion: Morse 2nd: Veldhuizen Motion Carried 5-0

Eng. Piggush: no report

Streets & Alley, Veldhuizen:

*Motion to approve MFT Appropriations Resolution

Motion: Veldhuizen 2nd: Morgan Motion Carried 5-0

Finance, Dickson: absent

Treas. Graves: stated Village may receive tax disbursement early

Sewer & Garbage, Morgan: Spoke of progress with Heldt Park, spoke of wagon donations, Farmers Market begins in July, and gave a short sewer grant update

Building & Grounds, Wold: Thanked the Morgan Family and all volunteers for the work on the wagon. Thanked the Grant Park Chamber, Woldhuis Farms, and Bob Schurman for the flowers around Town.

Ordinance & Insurance, Morse: Presented a corrected version of the Workers Compensation Insurance Audit

Law Enforcement, Malkowski: Mentioned Police had 111 calls in May, 2016

Pres. Roth: Annual Committee Appointments, Tabled

No Executive Session Held
