Two Olivet Nazarene athletes recently earned Player of the Week honors, according to the university's website.

Football player Rashaan Gaymon was named Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 2-8, while Jurren van der Gun earned Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1.

Gaymon earned his honor by piling up 102 yards on six kick returns for an average of 17 yards per return. Gaymon's efforts included a 41-yard return.

It's the second weekly honor this season for Gaymon, who was named Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 11-17.

Van der Gun had a goal in each of a pair of recent Tiger wins, scoring the tying goal with about 10 minutes left in ONU's 3-2 defeat of Cardinal Stritch on Sept. 27 in Milwaukee and notched the winning goal as the Tigers beat Roosevelt 2-1 on Oct. 1 in Chicago.
