Grant Park Board introduced to new village attorney

Board met Monday, Nov. 21.

VILLAGE OF GRANT PARK BOARD MINUTES 11/21/2016 6:03PM 

Meeting called to order / Pledge Roll call was taken all present 

*Motion to approve 11/07/16 previous meeting, Tabled 

Public Comments: John Loitz, asked to speak to the Board, concerning the dumpster Ordinance. Due to that he needs to pour concrete for the proper placement of the toters, he asked if there could be a delay until Spring for them to prepare the area. Permission granted til April 1st, 2017.

*Motion to approve bills for payment: General Fund <11/18/16 $10,351.46, Sewer Fund $2,215.08, M.F.T. $56,596.82, Payroll <11/05/16 $13.262.36, Stipend <11/10/16 $1,455.00. Motion: Dickson 2nd: Morgan Motion Carried 6-0 

Departmental Reports: Clerk Dillman: no report 

Atty. Rowe: no report (at this time the Board was introduced to Jeff Taylor, of Spesia & Ayres, whose firm will be appointed as Attorneys for the Village at the December meeting, due to Mr. Rowe being elected as Kankakee County States Attorney) 

Streets & Alleys, Veldhuizen: no report 

Finance, Dickson: no report 

First Reading of the 2017 Tax Levy Appropriations Ordinance O-11-16-1 was held 

Sewer & Garbage, Morgan: Mentioned that the cameras, and meters are all working well, and numerous winterizing projects are being done. 

Building & Grounds, Wold: December 10th is Christmas in the Village, to be held at the Elementary School, and area Businesses. Thanked Gary Morgan, David Dillman, and Tyler Hilgert for hanging the Village ornaments along the Highway. 

Ordinance & Insurance, Morse: Insurance renewals sent off to Ryan Insurance 

Law Enforcement, Malkowski: 113 police calls so far this month 

Chief Frey: showed a Letter of Appreciation to be presented to Gilliam Builders for their donation of shed doors, material and labor. 

Pres. Roth: read a Thank You letter from the Heldt Family. Also thanked Jim Rowe for his service to the Board for the past years, and wished him well as States Attorney.

No Executive Session held
