Olivet volleyball taps Tabisz as MVP

The Olivet Nazarene Tigers named Katie Tabisz its most valuable player during the team's annual banquet in Bourbonnais, the school's athletic website announced recently.

Tabisz, a senior setter/opposite hitter and four-year starter, had 247 kills and 281.5 points, according to the team's statistics.

Rachel Kirby and Mikinsey Pruim were named co-most improved players. Kirby, a junior middle blocker/opposite hitter, led the team with 94 total blocks and had 227 kills and 27 service aces. Pruim, a freshman middle blocker, had 37 kills.

Jeslyn Roat, a junior outside hitter, received the Nicole Garde Award winner, which is given to the player who "best examples Christian character, servant leadership and perseverance on and off the court,” according to the website.

Roat led the Tigers with 363 kills, 33 aces and 415.5 points.
