Olivet Nazarene University junior shortstop Tanner McLain has earned his second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor of the season, according to the school's athletic website.
In five games from April 10-16, McLain batted .609, scored and drove in 12 runs, and claimed three stolen bases. He also pushed his streak of consecutive games with more than one hit to six.
His week included two three-hit games in a doubleheader against Trinity International on April 12 at home. In a home doubleheader on April 15 against Calumet College of St. Joseph, McLain had four RBIs in the first game and four hits in the second game.
McLain was also named CCAC Player of the Week on March 16.
Through April 20, McLain had a .407 batting average, which ranked second in the CCAC, and had scored 44 runs, which tied for second.
