Village of Grant Park Board of Trustees met Feb. 6.

Here is the minutes as provided by the Board:

6:00PM Meeting called to Order/ Pledge

Roll Call was taken, all members present except Ms. Morgan

Minutes from previous meeting of 1/17/17 was approved, with correction of wording pertaining to  “bills”, used in place of Public Comments and not heading bill pay section.

Motion: Dickson    2nd: Veldhuizen     Motion Carried 5-0

Public Comments:

Dr. Palan Superintendent, and Mr. Dickson School Board President, representing the Grant Park Schools presented the Board with a booklet, outlining the accomplishments the School District has made in the past years. This was presented at the National School Board Convention recently. They outlined many topics, and their involvement with area entities. This booklet will be available online soon, available to anyone interested, and also will be made available to area realtors as well.

Mark Ekhoff announced that he has opened an office for the Grant Park Wind Farm on Taylor Street.

Bills for Payment: General Fund <2/03/17 $18,337.97, Sewer $1,485.70 Payroll <1/28/17 $13,493.90

Motion: Dickson    2nd: Veldhuizen     Motion Carried 5-0

Departmental Reports:

Clerk Dillman: no write in candidate for April election were turned in to Village office.

Streets & Alley, Veldhuizen:

Motion to approve “on call” list for maintenance at $10/hr

Motion: Veldhuizen    2nd: Dickson     Motion Carried 5-0

Finance, Dickson: no report

Sewer & Garbage, Morgan: no report…….absent

Building & Grounds, Wold: “Cabin Fever Reliever” Saturday Feb. 11th @6PM. We have 2 heaters replaced at the Community Building to be disposed of as surplus property. An Ordinance will be drafted to dispose of them. Mr. Wold thanked Mr. Malkowski, and Don Gass for their help in the painting of the Community Building interior. Mr. Wold asked for approval to join Sam’s Club  (funded by the Festival Comm. $45) for the purpose of buying chairs, and this is needed to not pay sales tax.

Ordinance & Insurance, Morse:

First reading held on Travel and Expense Ordinance O-17-2-1 required by the State

First Reading Ordinance O-17-2-2 to dispose of surplus property (1986 dump truck to Jeremy Roberts for $500) First reading waived.  Motion Morse, second Dickson  Motion carried 5-0

Second reading Ordinance O-17-2-2 to dispose of surplus property (1986 dump truck)

Motion: Morse    2nd: Dickson     Motion Carried 5-0

Law Enforcement, Malkowski:  127 calls by the Police for the month of January

Pres. Roth:

Read a Declaration, declaring February 13-19, 2017 as 211 Awareness Week
