Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The meeting of the Kankakee County Board, Kankakee, Illinois, held on May 9, 2017, pursuant to the adjourned meeting of September 13, 2016, was called to order at 9:00 a.m., by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Wheeler. Mrs. Evans, County Board Member, delivered the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The following members were present:

Claims Committee Report-

A motion to approve the claims reports from March 2017 was made by Mr. Byrne and seconded by Mr. Olthoff. A roll call vote was taken with the motion passing 23 ayes to 0 nays. Motion carried.

Minutes of the Last Meeting-

The minutes of the April 11, 2017 county board meeting were submitted to the County Board for approval. The reading of the minutes was waived. Mr. Tholen made a motion to accept the minutes from the April 11, 2017 county board meeting, with a second by Mrs. Dunbar. Motion carried by a voice vote.

Department Reports-

The department reports were read and accepted on the motion of Mr. Payton and seconded by Mr. Sirois. Motion carried by a voice vote.

Consent Agenda-

Mr. Wheeler noted that resolutions 51, 52 and 53 had scrivener's errors and have been corrected. Mr. Vickery made the motion to adopt the consent agenda. Mr. Skutt seconded the motion, Mr. Clark, County Clerk, read the items into the record. Motion carried by a voice vote.

Highway & Buildings-

Mr. Olthoff made a motion to waive the reading and adopt the resolution regarding Award of Bids for Public Highway improvements (68). Mr. Tripp seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the motion passing 23 ayes to 0 nays. Motion carried.

Executive-

A resolution was read Relating to Participation by Elected Officials in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (69). Mr. Sirois made a motion to adopt the resolution. Mr. Skutt seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the motion passing 23 ayes to 0 nays. Motion carried. Mr. Wheeler stated an Executive Session was not necessary. Mr. Rowe spoke and explained the agreement terminating the lease for the State’s Attorney’s Office at 270 N. Schuyler Avenue, Kankakee.

Finance-

Mr. McConnell made a motion to waive the reading regarding the resolution Approving the Early Lease Termination Agreement for the State's Attorney's Office at 270 N. Schuyler Ave. (70). Mrs. Parker seconded the motion. Motion carried by voice vote. Mr. Vickery made a motion to adopt the resolution Approving the Early Lease Termination Agreement for the State's Attorney's Office at 270 N. Schuyler Ave. (70). Mr. LaGesse seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the motion passing 23 ayes to 0 nays. Motion carried.

Openings

There is one opening on the Kankakee County Board of Health (Dentist)

There is one opening on the Kankakee County Convention & Visitors Bureau

There is one opening on the Kankakee County Farmland Assessment Review Committee

There is one opening on the Cabery Area Fire Protection District

There are five openings on the Kankakee County Regional Planning Commission

Old Business-

Mr. Wheeler reported that the State's Attorney’s office move will be completed by the end of the month. The Criminal Division will be returning to the third floor of the Court House. The Civil, Juvenile and Traffic Divisions will occupy the sixth floor of the County Administration Building. The old treasurer's building is being utilized for storage of files,

Mr. Wheeler reminded the board that the Highway and Buildings Committee along with the Planning, Zoning and Agriculture Committee have meeting date changes effective in July. Members of the board will receive an updated calendar.

Mr. LaGesse made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:25 a.m. Mr. Mulcahy seconded the motion. Motion carried by a voice vote.
