Bradley Public Library District Board of Trustees met June 20.

Here is the agenda provided by the Board:

President Bayer called the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Bradley Public Library District to order at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June16, 2016.

Present: Bayer, Rodgers, Richardson, Grace, Benoit, and Hendrickson Absent: Longtin Also present: J. DePatis, Director, and J. Ponton, Recording Secretary

Approval of Minutes:

Moved by Trustee Hendrickson, seconded by Trustee Rodgers, that

Minutes of the May18, 2016 Meeting Session be Approved as Corrected

Motion carried by unanimous vote

Public Comment - None

Treasurer’s Report:

Moved by Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Grace, that

Treasurer’s Report for may be Accepted as Submitted

Motion carried by roll call vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent

Payment of Bills:

Moved by Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Benoit, that:

Bills Totaling $24,962.42 Be Allowed and Paid For May

Motion carried by roll call vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent

Director’s Report - [copy attached hereto]

33 new readers were registered and 7,516 items were issued in May.

Receipts: $521.83 fines on overdue books - $310.00 – fax - $617.75 – copies – $99.60 - lost/damage – $140.00 - fee cards - $32.60 – other.

Expenses: $200.29

The Library Director’s Report for May Accepted

Director DePatis stated the following:

Grants:

Director DePatis and Betty Chapman attended the annual Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley luncheon to be publicly awarded our $3,500. Sensory story- time grant.

Legal:

Prevailing Wage Ordinance posted, published in Daily Journal on June 9th and mailed to Illinois Department of Labor.

Insurance:

Worker’s Compensation audit completed and returned.

Miscellaneous:

Betty Chapman is celebrating her 10 year anniversary of employment at the Bradley Public Library.

Programs:

Adult Summer Reading Programs has 121 sign-ups.

Youth Summer Reading Programs has 318 participants with good attendance so far.

Food program is growing and more consistent than last year in terms of attendance.

6 staff members and Trustee Bayer attended the required training for food program Supervisors on May 25th.

Rails:

Rails has enough reserves to last for 3 years at current level of service.

Rails and IHLS are taking over the IL Library Delivery Service.

Committee Reports:

The Friends of the Library’s next meeting will be held on August 3, 2016 at 6:30 pm.

Moved by Trustee Bayer, seconded by Trustee Hendrickson to adopt Ordinance No.16-02, Ordinance To Levy And Assess A Tax Of.2% For The 2017-2018 Fiscal Year

Motion carried by roll call vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent

Moved by Trustee Rodgers, seconded by Trustee Grace to adopt updated Freedom of Information Act policy for 2016-2017

Motion carried by roll call vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent

Moved by Trustee Rodgers, seconded by Trustee Grace to have the executive meeting minutes remain closed

Moved by Trustee Rodgers, seconded by Trustee Richardson to change the August board meeting to August 24, 2016

Motion carried; all in favor

Moved by Trustee Rodgers, seconded by Trustee Grace to set the Public Hearing date of July 20, 2016 for fiscal year 2017-2018 Budget and Appropriations Ordinance

Motion carried; all in favor

Personnel Committee meeting will be on July 13th at 4:00 pm.

Bradley National Night Out will be held on August 2, 2016. Director DePatis asked Trustees to save the date.

Trustee Hendrickson moved for adjournment at 6:34 pm
