Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of Bradley Elementary School District No. 61 was held on June 8, 2017, beginning at 7:00 pm in the Board Room at the Bradley Administrative Center. President Golwitzer called the meeting to order and thereafter presided.

On roll call the following members voted present: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Schubert, Trudeau, Whalen and Wilder. Also present: Superintendent Goselin and Building Principals: Mark Kohl and Trisha Anderson along with Curriculum Coordinator Rebecca Selk and Special Services Director, Lindsey Coffey.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Golwitzer.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Trudeau seconded by Whalento adopt all items on the Consent Agenda: 1) Approve May 11, 2017 Minutes; 2) Approve Payroll and Accounts Payable; 3) Approval of All Committee Meeting Minutes; 4) AdoptPrevailing Wage Resolution (publication to be completed by the I-KANROE); 5) Approve Continued Designation of Hazardous Routes; 6) Approve allocation of Corporate Personal Property Replacement Taxes (CPPRT); 7) Re-Appoint Robbins, Schwartz, Nicholas, Lifton & Taylor as District Legal Counsel; 8) Approve Continuation of Current Fees For Copying of District Records; 9) Approve District Depositories; 10) Approve Building Usage (810) “The Ole Time Farm Show” at Bradley West Use of Parking Lot; 11) Approve Reimbursement of the Imprest Account; 12) Approve Disposal of Surplus Property; 13) Approve Armstrong Settlement Agreement; 14) Approve Nicole McCarty as the Bradley 61 School District Treasurer for 2017-2018 & 2018-2019; 15) Draft of IASB Issue 94 of District Policies:

A motion was made by Hasemeyer seconded by Geraci to Award Bid for Commercial Insurance (including Property, General Liability, Crime, Inland Marine, Auto, Umbrella, School Board Legal Liability and Treasurer's Bond).

Superintendent's Report: 1) Enrollment - May 26, 2017 - East 436 + 134; West - 477; Central - 493; Total - 1540; 2) Updates/Reports: Legislative Update -No K-12 Budget for 2017-2018; IASB-IASA-IASBO Conference - November 2017; Administrative Retreat Dates - July 17 & 18, 2017; Board Retreat - Possible August 2017; MyON Reading Program; BC Computer Class/LA Enrichment; Staff/Student Numbers for 2017-2018; Nurse's ReportAttached in Board Docs; August / October - New Board Meeting Dates (Scott Leadership Conference); On-Line Registration - As of Monday 6/05/17-722 students have registered - 630 have not; ISBE Waiver - Full Time Staff / Bradley Students; Other; 3) Finance (Scott / Kirt / Dave / Nicole) - Medical Trust COBRA Rate-July Meeting; 4) Official Requests for Freedom of Information: None.

Bradley East Principal Report: 1) BRTI Carnival Wrap-up: End of the Year Carnival was a great success; 2) Kindergarten Celebration - all KDG Classrooms were at capacity with families in attendance. The students performed a variety of songs and shared some of the daily morning learning routines for parents; 3) PreK Field Day - The PreK Field Day was held inside due to weather but many volunteers assisted to make the day a successful one. The PreK also held an end of the year presentation with many family members in attendance; 4) Important Dates: PreK Screening - August 8"; Kdg Orientation- August 21; PreK Orientation - August 22"; 5) The 2"Grade had their yearly Habitat units on full display in the classroom for later part of May. Students created the Habitat environments and worked hard on researching information and writing reports and presentations about various animals within those habitats; 6) Thank you to the BOE for your support throughout the school year.

Bradley West Principal Report: 1) End of Year Activities: Field Trips - Library, Life Education Center, 3"Grade Chorus Concerts, Spelling Bee, Data Days, Student of the Month Trip to the YMCA, Perry Farm Incentive Trip, Chorus/Band Pizza Party, Field Day, Game Truck Incentive, Band Concert, Wax Museum and Fundraiser Movie - All went well. 2) The Village will be using the 5" Grade Wing, Monday thru Wednesday each week in June and Finish on the 3" of July; 3) End of the Year Reports and Homeless Data have been entered into the The State System; 4) Have a Great Summer!

Bradley Central Principal Report: 1) Windy City Thunder Baseball Game for Zero Referrals; 2) Spring Band and Choral Concert - May 18th - Thanks to our Fine Arts Department for doing some amazing things with our students; 3) 8th Grade Dance - May 22th; 4) Graduation at ONU - May 23"- Congratulations to all of our Graduates.

This will be paid with 2017-2018 Title I funds. All grades K-8 will utilize the new Go Math series beginning a three year contract for the 2017-2018 school year. Supplemental Math materials are being reviewed for Rti math implementation (2017-2018 Title I Funds). LASST: Language Arts/Social Studies/Technology - (LA Enrichment at Bradley Central) - This would incorporate Social Studies themes utilizing LA skills while still teaching technology. BC Ambassadors: Boys Mentoring Program at BC; 4) Assessments - In an effort to meet State Goal 20 as required by the State starting with this school year (2016-2017), students were tested to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. The IL Physical Fitness Assessment results were reported on fifth and seventh grade students to the State. (Report is attached).

Special Services Director Report: 1) Preschool - Position offered to Ms. Kelsey Fitzgerald (Early Childhood/Special Education Certified); Planning for 2017-2018 Grant Application; Summer/Fall Screening - 8/08/2017; 5 Certified Teachers, Coordinator, SLP; +/- 5 ParaPros; 2) MAD - Planning for 2017-2018 Grant Application (will recall P/T Program ParaPro pending allocation); Mrs. Hall has planned a few summer activities to keep families engaged in the program over summer-Perry Farm, Cooking etc...; 1 Certified Teacher; 1 P/T ParaPro; 3) English Learners - 78 students; EL team is planning a professional development opportunity for all Bradley staff in August 2017; ELL grant is open, planning to submit application by 6/09/2017; 3 Certified Teachers (+1 1 preschool teacher); 4 ParaPros; 4) Nursing-Jennifer Vaughn (Bradley Central & East - RN)- 190 days - $60 Month Travel stipend; $583.50.00 (approx $40/hr); Marina Puenta (Bradley West & East-LPN)- 190 days - Submits monthly mileage - $20/hr.; 5) Special Education - 261 students with IEPs (projection for 2017-2018): Preschool-22; K-16; 1-18; 2"-38; 3'-27; 4'-30; 5'-26; 6"-23; 7-30; 8th-31; 15.5 (a Camelot; 1 (a) Chicago Autism Academy; 4 (a) KASEC; 14 Students with ISPs (Private School students (a) Bishop McNamara - BM has chosen to utilize proportionate share funds for speech and language therapy, consultation services and supplies materials; Special Education Profile for the 2015-2016 school year was released by ISBE (included in report-attached); Interviews were conducted on 6/05 & 6/06 for new classroom teacher - 22 certified teachers, 3 SW, 3 SLPs, 1OT, 1 COTA, 2 Psychs, +/-30 ParaPros, 1 Educational Interpreter. A motion to go into Executive Session at 7:45 p.m. was made by Trudeau, seconded by Wilder to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, dismissal or complaints 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)); and discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under this Act 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21)).

On the recommendation of the Superintendent a motion was made by Geraci, seconded by Whalento approve the May 11, 2017 Executive Session minutes.

A motion was made by Golwitzer, seconded by Geraci to Approve Employment of Extended School Year Staff (Special Education) - See attached list; Employ Para Professional (RIF) / Interpreter / ELL Translator (PreK) - Steven Elliott, Samantha Payne, Lauren Oxner, Ashley Tetter and Yvette Noth; Employment of Jaclynne Tingley - Assistant Principal Bradley Central; Employment of Ashley Welsh - Severe and Profound Special Education Bradley West (New Position); Employment of Catherine LaRocque-7th Grade Science Teacher at BC (Transfers - Menser); Employment of Kelsey Fitzgerald - PreK at Bradley East (Waide); Employment of Morgan O'Connor - Sign Language Interpreter at Bradley Central; July 7 August Hires.
