It doesn't take an accounting degree to know that Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) is doing something right.
According to its most recent reporting, the 110-year-old university has reached an all-time high in enrollment numbers, at 5,002 students, topping the 5,000 mark for the first time.
Undergrads account for 3,037 of the total, with 2,401 of them living on campus and continuing the school’s trend of enrollment of freshmen and transfer students.
“Increasing numbers of students from across the country and around the world continue to arrive each fall for the unique Olivet experience,” Susan Wolff, dean of undergraduate enrollment, said in a press release. “Enrollment is decreasing at many universities, and some are even closing their doors. Students and their families consistently value Olivet’s quality academics and career preparation in a Christian environment.
The university’s continued expansion is also credited with the growing enrollment.
“With a national online presence, we are seeing incredible growth and demand for Olivet programs,” Ryan Spittal, vice president for ONU Global, said in the press release. “With more than 14,000 students who have earned Olivet graduate degrees, we are proud to see our students — both past and present — making a difference in their communities as a result of their Olivet education.”
