Two Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) alumni have received the "O" award, the university's highest honor given to alumni.
Suzanne Bell, class of ’98, and David Graves, class of ’75, received the award from Olivet's Alumni Association during university homecoming and family weekend activities, the university announced on its website.
Graves, an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, has been the general superintendent of the international church body since 2009. From 2001 to 2006, Graves was director of Church of the Nazarene Sunday School ministries and has served as pastor for churches in several states.

Bell, a DePaul University tenured professor, has collaborated with Russian space scientists and recently traveled to Moscow for research. In 2015, she was among recipients of a $1 million NASA grant to work on a possible Mars mission. In 2016, Bell was named as one of the "Top 10 Chicago Women in Science."
Graves earned a bachelor’s degree from Olivet, a master's in divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary and an honorary doctorate from Olivet. Bell holds bachelor’s degrees in psychology and history from Olivet and earned her master's and Ph.D. degrees in industrial and organizational psychology from Texas A&M University.
