Manteno Community Unit School District 5 Buildings and Grounds Committee met March 13.

A. District
1. Water Fountains are installed and working. Administration will schedule a non-mandatory water test for lead levels.
B. High School
1. The track needs to be resurfaced. The District will ask the Board for approval to go out to bid at the March Board meeting. If approved, the project will be completed during summer break.
2. HomeStar Bank Field Entrance. Administration continues to have ongoing conversations with HomeStar Bank regarding a possible new entrance to the soccer/football field.
C. Middle School
1. The District will advertise for bids to do the parking lot resurfacing project in late March with a deadline of April 17th. The information will be shared at the April Building and Grounds meeting.
2. The grey school desks at the Elementary School will be moved to the High School and will be stored in the North mobile unit.

1. Manteno Athletic Boosters has partnered with the Athletic Department to renovate the High School weight room. New equipment has been ordered to replace some of the current equipment that will be declared surplus at the March Board meeting.

V. Additional Agenda Items
1. One of the basketball hoops at the Elementary school needs to be repaired. After repairing the hoop, Administration will also look into possibly changing the mechanics of the current operating system to lower the hoops. The basketball hoops are the original systems from when they were installed in early 2000.
2. The High School Smithco (infield groomer) needs repair. Parts have been ordered to fix the equipment from Burris Equipment Company in Joliet.
